Dessert will be the death of me. It seems like lately I’ve been treating myself to something sweet for every possible scenario. I’m sad? Dessert. Finished some studying? Dessert. I’m in a good mood? Dessert. Every reason I get, I want to reward myself with the ultimate temptation that is sugary goods. Probably the worst idea considering this year, I had wanted to really take hold of my life and be fit. Oops. What can I say… my sweet tooth is a serious struggle.

Tonight’s defeat was due to the location of the Blenz I was studying at. It was just so conveniently located right beside a Boston Pizza. My friends, Terri and Summer, started talking to me about this magical creation called the Panookie. So of course, we had to compensate the amount of studying we had done for the night with some heavenly sweetness.

Between the three of us, we shared two desserts. The first one that we got was their apple crisp. Basically, what it is, is a baked apple crumble. It is made with sweet Granny Smith apple slices in butter sauce, with a oat and brown sugar crust. It is then topped off with some caramel drizzle and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Oh. My. Lord. So good. Apple is one of my least favourite fruit to eat, but this was truly made to warm-melty-delicious perfection. The apple crisp costs $6.99.

And then of course, we had to order The Panookie. I’ve actually never heard of this treat prior to tonight, and WOW was I missing. The best way I can describe it, is that it is a giant, warm, soft chocolate chip cookie, coated with a caramel and fudge drizzle. And then of course, to finish, a ball of vanilla ice cream on top. One of my favourite desserts of all time is the lava cake, and yes, this is a little different, but it’s chocolate-y goodness was right up my alley. Costing only $4.99, I am definitely going to be eating a lot more Panookies this year. This was probably one of the worst discoveries to make this year solely due to the fact that I study at this Blenz location A LOT, buuuuut what can you do ? If it was meant to be, it was meant to be.

Oh, and just for informative purposes, the apple crisp has 760 calories, and the panookie has 880 calories. Just searching that up was painful, but incase anyone wanted to know. You can find all of Boston Pizza’s nutritional information here, just incase you wanted to eat smart… unlike me.

What are your favourite desserts to eat?

By the way ! My friend Terri actually writes a blog as well ! She is just getting started, but has a lot of great content, so if you have some time go show her some love ! I’ll link her blog here.

Until next time,
