One of my most-loved hikes near Vancouver is the Stawamus Chief in Squamish. It’s about 11 km total with an elevation gain of 600 m. To me, it feels like the perfect length and incline, making it easy and quick enough to do a quick day trip while still getting a killer workout.

My favourite thing about this hike? The view. You get to see an insane sweep of the town of Squamish and the Howe sound. It is absolutely breath-taking. The rolling hills and the valley is a true gift after the stairs and rocky trail that you’ve endured on the way up. Nothing has compared to this sight for me yet, and I don’t think anything will.

Vancouvertrails.com provides an amazingly detailed description of the entire hike as well as directions on getting there. The chief view

What’s the best view you’ve seen on a hike?

Until next time,
