Here are some of my current favourite fall transitional pieces for the 2020 autumn season!

I’m bringing light coloured pants into the fall, and you can’t stop me! They just pair so beautifully with light coloured chunky knits and coats and I love the snow bunny feel that it gives you. Loving these beige wide-leg trousers from J.ING. (use code ‘JINGAngel15’ for 15% off!)

Recently received this Making Moves set from Oh Polly and instantly fell in love with how comfortable, high-quality, and versatile this set is. Although the silhouette is similar to just a plain sports bra + bicycle short combo, the thick fabric and ruched detailing make it instantly more dressy and high-fashion. Not only is it double-layered, but it’s also made of an incredibly soft jersey fabric that makes it super easy to want to stay in it all day.

I love how this set looks on its own as a cozy at home or errand set, but it looks great paired with some nice jewelry, a blazer, and some heels or boots.

I decided to throw my oversized vintage blazer on top and wear my gold chain. Thought it also paired great with this vintage wicker back that I picked up a couple of years ago as it also has gold detailing. If I wasn’t so lazy with my outfits these days, I would definitely wear this as a day and night look.

Light Trench Coat

Vancouver gets way too cold in the winter to wear Trench Coats so really they’re the most perfect for Spring and early Fall. Loving this light trench from Oak and Fort this season. O+F has always been a favourite of mine since they offer really gorgeous seasonal pieces at a decent price.

Light Blue Midi Wrap Dress

I’ve always correlated wrap dresses to spring/summer and this dress is the epitome of how I imagined the perfect spring dress to look. I love the flowy sleeves and how the fabric drapes over your body in the most flattering manner. If I had any warm weather weddings to go to, this would be my go-to.

Light Blush Sweaters

Although springtime in Vancouver can be sunny and beautiful, it can often stay cold all the way up until May. One of my favourite transitional pieces has got to be the thin knit sweaters. Really loving blush pink this year and I think this piece from Capsule the brand is the perfect spring sweater.

Vests are making a huge come back this year and this piece by J.ING is one of my absolute favourites. I first saw it on Ellen V Lora in one of her Japan photos and I fell in love with it. Oversized Blazer

I honestly couldn’t go into any season without a good blazer, especially Spring/Summer. Blazers are the perfect light jacket to elevate any outfit. This one by Bawbee Shop is one of my all-time favourite pieces that I own. It’s thick and soft and it’s the perfect oversized, boyfriend fit. What more can you really ask for in a blazer?

From backpacks to a good rain jacket, I remember shopping for back to school must-haves was one of my favourite times of the year. And even though I’m not personally heading back to school this year, I still wanted to put together a list of all of the things I would be shopping for, for those of you who are still students!

Backpacks and Bags

Lululemon have made some of my favourite bags that I own, and this year is no different. Their new On My Way Rucksack comes in 5 gorgeous colours, and a laptop sleeve, making it perfect for school.

Herschel has always been super prominent in Vancouver, especially while I was in school. And I think as the years go on, their coming out with more and more gorgeous tote bag silhouettes and I’m absolutely obsessed. They have great backpacks too, but I think their tote bags are amazing. One of my favourites currently, is definitely the Alexander Tote from their Studio collection.

If you like super simplistic designs (although the Alexander Tote is pretty simple already), their Micah Tote is also one of my favourites. There are TONS of different colours to choose from, but this Lavender colour is my current favourite, and definitely on-trend for this school year.

Jackets

Rain jackets are pretty much a must-have in Vancouver, where it rains from October to about April. The Rain Is Calling Jacket by Lululemon is a really lightweight shell option that’ll be perfect to keep in your backpack just incase. I’ve been caught out in the rain with no umbrella and no rain jacket COUNTLESS times, and I’m so done making that mistake.

I’ve been seeing the Lululemon Stay Hot Keep Cold bottle around more and more, and I swear I get closer to buying one each time I see it again. The shape and design of these bottles are pretty gorgeous. Not to mention, they’re very comparable to the infamous Swell bottles that got so much attention in past years.

Bag organizers have been around for a while now, and I honestly still don’t know what I’d do with my life without my 12 pouches. Anyone that knows me, knows that I’m a crazy pouch lady. But why have 12 when you can just have one discreet organizer in your bag? My student life would’ve been SO much more organized if I had one of these back then. You can organize all your devices, cables, chargers, memory cards, hard drives, USB drives and more. The Bagsmart electronic organizers from Amazon are some of my favourites.

I’ve been on a serious workout kick lately, and I’m super proud of myself for it. And you’ve probably heard me say it before but wearing the right work out clothes gives me the extra motivation I need to get my bum to the gym. I’ve been trying to experiment with lighter colours since it’s summer, and have been straying away from the dark navy and black sets I usually go for.

So here are my current favourite summer workout clothes!

The Flow Y Bra Nulu in Serene Blue has honestly been one of my go-tos as of late. I think it’s SUCH a cute colour. It’s this light blue-lavender, and it pairs great with any light-coloured bottoms. And it’s ON SALE right now.

I wear the Serene Blue bra above with these Wunder Under High Rise Tight in the Full-On Luxtreme fabric in Flower Pop White Silver Lilac. Wow, that was a mouthful. These are SO CUTE. I love the pattern and the fit, and the fabric is curve-hugging, comfortable, and totally squat proof. I usually don’t like going for such light bottoms, but these look great on me and I love them.

I own one outfit from Outdoor Voices but am wanting to buy SO MANY MORE. Too bad they currently only ship within the US, otherwise I would drain my bank account for them.

Obsessed with this tri-tone 7/8 Springs legging in their seasonal colour. UGH, it’s so cute. Having both the blue and the pink in one pair of leggings gives you more freedom on what colour top you want to pair it with.

The bra that I own from them is the Steeple Chase bra. I love the cut out in the middle of the bra, it works great for me because I am quite small-chested which means even though this is a low-cut bra with a cut-out, it doesn’t look “slutty” or do I feel over-exposed in it. I own it in the classic Dove colour, but to match the leggings above, I’d get it in Rose Quartz.

I know I already mentioned Lululemon above, but they make some of my favourite legging fabrics EVER. Specifically the Align Pants. These are the definition of SOFT, and I own a couple of pairs of these. Although they don’t recommend these for the gym, I think they’re GREAT for the gym. Super lightweight, breathable, soft, comfortable, squat proof…I’ve never had an issue with these at the gym. Plus it feels like you’re wearing next to nothing so for those extra sweaty hot gym days, you’re not feeling restricted at all. Love the Palm Court colour. These are also ON SALE RIGHT NOW. So for reals, go and get them.

Again, as a girl who’s a part of the itty bitty titty committee, I’m not too worried about wearing low impact sports bras even when I am doing heavy lifting at the gym or even cycling.

The Lululemon Free To Be Wild bra is another one of my favourites from them. Although it looks unsuspecting in the front, it’s got crossed straps in the back for a fun, interesting look.

Ahhh, summer finally feels like it’s here in Vancouver, and I haven’t worn long pants in a week and it’s been great. While in previous summers, my focus has been in dresses, clothes, and all that, this year I’ve really started to hone in on growing my summer accessories collection—starting with bags.

Bags really do complete a look as well as dictate how functional your outfit is going to be that day. So here are my top picks for the ultimate summer bags this year.

Rattan Crossbody

This Amerii bag has been a go-to so far this summer. It’s the perfect size (fits my wallet, phone, keys, and even my mirrorless camera) and you can loop the strap around the bag twice for a mini bag look.

Ring Handle Bags

The ring-shaped handles have been making a big splash in the fashion world in the last couple of years, and with summer straw bags, it’s not different. I love the shape and structure of this one by Gap, but also love the functionality that the crossbody strap provides. Count on Gap to make a non-functional bag functional.

The Straw Tote

You KNOW how much I value functionality in a bag, and tote bags (no matter what material it’s made of) are usually my go-to’s. I think the straw tote is SUCH a cute summer look. Whether you’re headed to work, to the gym, to the beach, or just out for brunch…this bag will fit all of your essentials and more, and works great as a carry-all while looking cute. Love the leather straps on this one by J.Crew, and the price is pretty reasonable. I think when buying a tote bag, it is worth it to pay a little more for better quality because you’re more likely to carry heavier loads with this bag. Don’t want to purchase a flimsy bag that will break on you halfway through the day!
