Let me just apologize in advance if my outfits look a little lazy and more relaxed. Although I do wear baggy, comfy clothes on the regular, I do feel that my blogpost outfits should be a little more done up and “stylish”. But lately things have been too hectic for me to dress up.

I feel like I’ve got so much to do and there are definitely not enough hours in a day to do it all. School, work, instagram, blogging, youtube, hanging out with friends… I want to do everything. I’ve really been inspired lately to try to work on my IG, blog, and YouTube more. It’s something I’ve grown passionate about over the past year and I want to grow it further. I wish school wasn’t so time-consuming so that I would actually have time to translate the ideas in my head into bomb content. But I guess most of it will just have to wait until the summer.

Talking about the summer, there are so many things I want to accomplish this summer as well. Other than summer bod 16′, which is something I’ve been trying to achieve in full force, I also want to expand on my experience in my field of study. I’m really hoping that I will either have time to work on my own branding or that I will be able to intern / work part-time in the industry. (PRAYING).

Either way I hope I do something this summer that I can be proud of in years to come. Fingers-crossed!

I gotta say, although I love how classy and rich gold jewelry looks, a part of me will always still love silver. Something about the cold crisp and sleek look that silver gives off… it really stands out. This outfit was taken quite a while back, when I first bought my wang boots. It took me about an hour to decide between rose gold and silver but, as you can see, the heart wants what the heart wants. I still don’t regret my decision one bit. These Wangs were definitely a silver lining for me. (HA see what I did there)

My newest favourite pairing has been pairing boyfriend jeans and (pointed) booties. The reason I put “pointed” in brackets is because they don’t necessarily HAVE to be pointed to look good with boyfriend jeans. BUT I love how the sleek feminine silhouette looks with the boyish jeans. 

The pair I’m wearing above are from Forever21. Although I find it kind of difficult to find boyfriend jeans at F21, mostly because they’re ALWAYS sold out in my size, when I do they usually are AWESOME. Affordable, soft, comfortable and stylish. What more can you ask for? Usually for trendy jeans , such as really distressed boyfriend jeans, I don’t like spending an insane amount of money because trends pass. I’d rather invest in classic pieces that I know I will love forever. 

My booties are from ASOS. I’ve been looking for an affordable pointed chelsea boot for quite some time and I LOVE this one especially because of its resemblance to the ACNE Jensen boot. They were originally $80 but I was lucky enough to get them on sale for $50 ! Such a steal for a great pair of comfortable black booties. More places you can usually find affordable booties are Zara, Top Shop, Aldo and Spring. My go-to places to look when I’m trying to find an affordable option for trending booties and shoes.

I went with a flowy colour-block t-shirt from Oak and Fort to add more femininity to the baggie jeans and then finished the outfit off with my Mackage Rumer jacket. 

On my most recent trip down to the states I picked up these snake print Adidas SL Loop. I definitely noticed these before but never really knew whether it was worth spending the money on. However, I got lucky, during my trip to Portland I saw these for a discounted price at Nordstrom Rack. I’ve definitely been on a sneaker kick since this past summer and I’ve acquired 5 different pairs of sneakers since the May… Yikes. But since sneakers are actually all the rage right now, it’s the perfect time for me to lounge around in as many different sneakers as I can. Comfort + style. What could be better. 

I love how these pop with a good black outfit. They really do stand out yet the pattern is still subtle. I paired this near-all-black ensemble with a light washed denim jacket which I think helps break up all the darkness. Inside I’m wearing a really simple, crew-neck sweater and I’m using my Matt & Nat backpack. 

This is a pretty good representation of what kind of outfit I usually go for when I’ve got class to attend. I find that the all black makes it look trendy still but I’m still super comfortable and cozy for those cold lecture halls.

If you guys haven’t noticed already, but there’s TWO outfits in today’s post ! I went shopping downtown with my older sister today, so I decided to lug my camera out and create some new content ! 

I bought a new pair of boyfriend jeans this week ! I’ve been trying to find the perfect pair of boyfriend jeans for the LONGEST time. My body is not proportionate in the sense that my thighs and calves are bigger in proportion to my waist. So when I try to buy boyfriend jeans, if I buy the jeans in my waist size, they wouldn’t be a ‘boyfriend fit’ on my thighs. They’d be TIGHT. but if I go a size up in the waist size, the legs are perfect. 

But I found and tried on a pair of these distressed blue denim in Forever 21 and actually ended up loving it!

The waist is a little big, but for the baggy fit it’s perfect. I love the uneven distressing and the light blue wash. And the BEST PART?! They were only $40!

I’ve been wanting a pair of boyfriend jeans for SO long that I was actually considering splurging and spending 300+ on a pair of citizens! But honestly, those don’t even look as good on me as these ones do. 

And can we talk about my Kelly’s (my older sister) Celine for a second… It is absolutely beautiful. It’s in such a gorgeous colour way. The nudes and maroons are perfect for Fall. I’m sooooo in love with it <3

Today my friend Mary and I decided to have a girls day out ! We started the day off right with some Deer Garden (a noodle place) which was B.O.M.B., and then followed it up with Earnest ice cream which was almost even better. Then went to chapters so I could pick up a new agenda for this coming school year . 

I’m finally starting at my new job this coming week ! and it actually worked out perfectly, because I’ll be working alongside Mary ! I’m actually starting as a sales associate at Aritzia ! I’ve heard plenty of great things about it from Mary, and I’m extremely excited that I will be joining the team ! 

I’m honestly also really glad that I’ve finally found a new job, because it’s really time for me to rein in my life again. It’s easy to lose control of how you spend your time and how productive you are with your days, when you don’t have work or school to deal with. It’s especially hard at times like that to motivate yourself to do anything else other than lounging around being lazy. I’ve spent the majority of the beginning of this Summer doing nothing productive so I’m glad that I will finally be needing to put time, energy, and concentration into something of importance. 

Things are working out again, and I’m extremely thankful for that.

I finally got my hands on some Birkenstock Arizonas !!! I’ve been thinking on these for a while now, and chose to just bite the bullet since I recently just got a new job ! More about that soon.

I actually was pretty set on purchasing the black pair because I knew that I would get a lot more use out of them, but some how, while I was trying both colours on in the store, I decided on white ! Think it was partially because I had on an all black outfit, and it made the shoes REALLY stand out.  

I’ve spent all day in them now, and oh man, do I want to go back to pick up the black pair. BUT must refrain. I need to stop spending money that I haven’t made yet !

This is definitely going to be the Summer of slippers. You have no idea how much I’m loving the fact that sneakers and slippers are what’s “trendy” now-a-days. Makes my entire life. Hope these trends stick. Don’t think I can revert back to wearing heels and booties.

I’m definitely starting the Summer right with this super simple, comfortable outfit. As much as I love getting dressed up, and looking good during the hot weather, I also REALLY care about how comfortable I feel in my clothes ! Outfits that I can bum around in at home, and then go out in after are hopefully what this Summer will be mainly consisted of.

I threw this Armani Exchange jacket overtop to dress up the outfit just enough that I can go out and see people in it. I think it really pulls the outfit together, and changes it from “netflix and pizza” to “summer brunchin’ with friends”. You could also tie the jacket around your waist when it gets a little toasty.
