It’s definitely the girliest item of clothing that I own, and it makes me feel girly when I wear it. But it’s one of those pieces that I don’t even think about getting rid of. Amongst my leathers, black clothes, and distressed denim, this skirt definitely stands out and makes me feel a little different.

I also adore the light blush pink colour of the skirt. I think it’s light enough of a pink that makes it still very wearable and versatile. Anything pinker than this I would start to shy away from. My cravings for spring/summer has definitely kicked in and I’ve been dying to wear some lighter pieces. I paired the skirt with a mauvey-grey turtle neck to ensure I wasn’t freezing to death (there’s still snow outside!)

And yes, I had to wear it with a leather moto and some leather booties. Because modern day princesses are strong, independent, and don’t need no man. All we need is a good leather jacket to conquer the world with. Am I right?!

Valentines day is right around the corner. And although I’m spending it alone, I’m more than content and happy with my life. I’ve got a great support system of family and friends, an amazing internship opportunity starting in March, and a really exciting future ahead of me. What else does a girl need really?

To all of you celebrating Valentines day independently this year, happy Galentines day! or Bruh-lentines day if there happen to be some dudes visiting my blog (??)

More soon!

Florica. https://speakoftheangel.com/florica/ https://speakoftheangel.com/florica/#respond Wed, 02 Nov 2016 01:00:04 +0000 http://speakoftheangel.com/?p=2991 My leather jacket obsession definitely started from my mother. She used to buy these crazy leathers in different colours and styles. I especially remember one bright orange leather jacket that she owned and wore every single day for ages. Although I definitely have not gotten as brave as my mom with the statement jackets, I’ve definitely picked up her love.

This is my third leather that I’ve bought for myself and I am absolutely obsessed! I know what you guys are thinking… Angel you already own the Mackage Rumer jacket (which is pretty much the pebbled leather version of this jacket) so why in the world did you buy the Florica. WELL MY FRIENDS… because it’s an obsession I guess.

This is how I justified it: Although the cut of the jacket is almost identical to the Rumer, because it is made with a softer calfskin leather, it embodies a much more relaxed look than the thick pebbled leather of the Rumer. I find that my Rumer is the perfect jacket to dress up any look due to its loud pebbled leather and bright silver hardware. Everything on the Florica is much more toned-down, from the gunmetal hardware to the smooth leather. It moulds into any outfit perfectly rather than stand alone as a statement piece like the Rumer does.

And that’s more than enough of a reason for me to invest in this beauty ♥_♥

If any of you were wondering I bought a XXS in the Florica because it does fit a lot looser than the Rumer due to the Calfskin. I’ve also learned my lesson with my Kenya jacket, which is made of the same beautiful leather as the Florica, that calfskin tends to stretch A LOT more than the thicker pebbled leather. So taking that in mind I went for the smallest size so that it’ll stretch and mould to my body as I wear it. Between the 3 Mackage leathers, I definitely have always loved my Rumer the most.  But I’m not going to lie, I can sense that I will be reaching for the Florica A LOT as well due to its versatility and muted, but still badass, vibe.

Oh and if you were wondering, my top is from Aritzia, jeans are by BDG from Urban Outfitters, and shoes are Alexander Wang!

Hope you guys are having a good week so far! Happy hump day!

To The Tee https://speakoftheangel.com/to-the-tee/ https://speakoftheangel.com/to-the-tee/#respond Fri, 24 Jun 2016 05:54:40 +0000 http://speakoftheangel.com/?p=2149 Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

I feel like the older I get, the more I’m starting to lean back towards classic pieces and neutral colours. Definitely went through a colours and prints phase in high school (goodbye forever hot pink tights and yellow skinny jeans) but I’m feeling more comfortable than ever being back in the basics. I feel like every wardrobe needs certain pieces to make it complete. A luxurious pair of denim, a classic leather jacket, a timeless purse, or even just a simple white tee.

With all the different cuts and fabrics that exist with simple white tees nowadays, it’s actually kind of difficult to find that perfect white tee. And I’m definitely not saying there’s a PERFECT white tee that is going to meet ALL your needs and when you find it THAT’S IT. Nope. I own about 10 different white tees, and they’re all perfect in totally different ways. (Neurotic, I know.)

Recently, however, I have definitely been reaching for this ‘Spot Short Slv’ tee by Bench a bit more than my other tees. I really like the length of this tee and where it hits on my hips when I wear my mid-rise jeans (which is ALWAYS since it hasn’t actually been hot enough for shorts lately). Not to mention it’s incredibly soft and breathable which is perfect for Vancouver’s bipolar summer weather.

I also absolutely love the low-cut back of this tee (as shown here). I think it adds a unique factor to the shirt without compromising the simplicity of it which is always a plus in my books.

I dressed up my white ‘Spot Short Slv’ shirt with my Mackage ‘Rumer’ jacket as well as some cute sandals from H&M. This look is essentially a mash-up of all my closet staples, which pretty much creates my perfect go-to look. VOILA.

Hope you guys are having a really great week!

Until next time,

But first, Coffee https://speakoftheangel.com/1607-2/ https://speakoftheangel.com/1607-2/#comments Mon, 21 Mar 2016 21:34:27 +0000 http://speakoftheangel.com/?p=1607

One of the many things that make me really appreciate Vancouver is the plethora of beautiful cafes and coffee shops that we have scattered around the city. I’ve got to admit, I am definitely one of those bloggers that LOVE spending time in pretty coffee shops. Something about a well-designed and decor-ed coffee shop makes me feel so much more inspired and determined (and important) than when I am working somewhere plain and bleh. Is it just me?

Also, excuse my ubiquitous blog title for this typical coffee shop post. I JUST LOVE THEM SO MUCH .

My coffee shop outfit today is pretty simple. I got this cute V-cut body suit from Zara! Body suits seem to be a huge thing right now, and every store has their own variation of it. I was drawn to this one because of its versatile style. Paired with denim it’s got a easy-going casual vibe. OR dress it up with a pencil skirt for an instant night-out look. The cherry on top was the fact that I paid less than 20 dollars for it! Gotta love Zara.

I paired it with my grey Citizens of Humanity Rocket jeans and my leather Rumer jacket by House of Mackage for a badass and casual “Outsiders” look. Anyone remember reading that book in highschool? “Stay Gold, Ponyboy…”
