Crazy how quickly this summer flew by. I feel like as I’m getting older each year just keeps going by faster. Kind of starting to understand why the phrase “time is money” exists now. Vancouver had its first rain in a while and oh man did it feel like autumn. Definitely a preview of the school semester to come (aka going to school at 7 am when it’s still dark out). But I do have to say the cloudy weather is definitely provides more photo-friendly lighting than the blaring sunshine does. So of course I went outside on my break to an undercover area to take OOTDs :b.

I think I’ve finally gotten my fix of chunky turtle necks and have been leaning more towards just round or v-shaped necklines in sweaters. I have a feeling the one I’m wearing here is going to be a favourite this fall. This oatmeal coloured, waffle-knit sweater is from Aritzia’s house brand, Wilfred Free. I have actually been eyeing this sweater since last year but ended up buying several other sweaters instead of this one. But now that I finally own it I’m sad I didn’t own it earlier. The knit is thick yet still very breathable so I’ve been able to make use of it already. I sized up and bought a medium because I wanted it to look and feel very oversized and comfy. The neckline is wide enough that I can wear it off one shoulder (which I am obsessed with) should I ever get sick of the v-shaped neckline. I think this is going to be a great sweater to dress up or down this fall/winter and it’s got me pretty excited for the cooler weather.

I paired the sweater with this simple black maxi skirt which is also by Wilfred Free. I love how the slit angles slightly towards the front. And of course the reposa material is well loved for its comfort and lightweight feel.

Also can we talk about how adorable this watch is? I’m digging the rose gold and white face paired with the light grey leather band. I think the colour scheme is beautiful and have worn it a bunch of times already. Only issue I have with the watch is that because the watch face is slightly bigger, when the watch twists and turns on my wrist it can feel a little uncomfortable. But overall I’ve really enjoyed styling this watch with my girlier outfits. I think it ties everything together really well.

Hope everyone had an amazing week so far!

Until next time,

Everyday Eye Makeup Pictorial ! https://speakoftheangel.com/everyday-eye-makeup-pictorial/ https://speakoftheangel.com/everyday-eye-makeup-pictorial/#comments Wed, 25 Mar 2015 07:00:07 +0000 http://speakoftheangel.com/?p=633 IMG_2938IMG_2952

Lately I’ve been really getting back into my Naked 3 palette. I forgot how much I loved the rosey golds and the pinky taupes. I know I’ve been really sucking at making Youtube videos lately. Something about it has really just not been clicking well with me. I’ve had no motivation to film or edit whatsoever. So instead, I decided I would show you guys my everyday makeup look through a pictorial !

DISCLAIMER : I am NOT, by any means, a MUA. I really WISH I was a MUA. BUUUUT I’m not. This is just how I do my face everyday. okaaaaaay leggo

IMG_2939

I always start out with a transitional shade. Makes my life so much easier. Here I’m using a fluffy blending brush to blend Limit into my crease, and towards the inner corner of my eye.

IMG_2942

To darken up the crease a little further, I’m taking that same blending brush and buffing Nooner into my crease as well.

IMG_2944 IMG_2945

Next, taking a slightly denser blending blush, I’m taking factory and placing it in the outer corner of my eye in my outer V and blending it slightly upward into my crease.

Then with a clean blending blush, I go back and really blend out the edges of Factory. If needed, I will take a little bit more of Limit and use it to really haze out the edge of the darker colours. You want the colours to fade out towards your browbone.

Then I take a fluffy shader brush and apply Burnout into the inner half of my lid, and then Strange into my inner corners as a highlight.

Rediscovered my love for gel liners recently, and haven’t stopped using this one ever since. This is just a 3 Concept Eyes Gel eyeliner pot that I bought in Hong Kong last summer. You can use any black eyeliner that you’d like ! I just went with a small wing (like I always do).

 IMG_2954IMG_2957IMG_2958

And VOILA ! here is the finished eye look !

As for my face makeup, I think I will be doing a separate pictorial (or maybe finally a video?!) of how I apply foundation, concealer, contour, blush and highlight. So incase you were wondering, keep your eyes peeled for that.

Same goes with my brows and fake lashes application !

Hope this was helpful some how !

Until next time,

MOTD : EVERYDAY MAKE UP https://speakoftheangel.com/motd-everyday-make-up/ https://speakoftheangel.com/motd-everyday-make-up/#respond Tue, 13 Jan 2015 23:55:30 +0000 http://theangeldossier.wordpress.com/?p=39 OCT

I hate getting sick. But for some reason I’ve just been getting sick so easily this past little while. I swear I just got better from a cold about 2 weeks ago and all of a sudden I’m sick again ) : . Pretty sad start to a new year.

One thing I hate about being is of course how I look. That sickly colourless skin, the dark under eye circles, the whole lot. So being the first day of school for me, and being someone who thoroughly enjoys looking fabulous almost all the time, here’s my make up of the day (MOTD).

IMG_2375

I started off with my CoverGirl Ready Set Gorgeous foundation that I’ve been loving lately. It applies and blends easily, leaves a matte finish but isn’t drying on my exceptionally dry skin. I wasn’t sure if I was going to like this foundation for that specific reason, because my friend who also loves it has oily/combination skin. But I decided to give it a try anyways because I needed to try some new drugstore foundations, and I ended adoring it.

To cover my under eye circles I used the Hard Candy Glamoflauge Heavy duty concealor. This stuff really is HEAVY DUTY. It is truly a full coverage concealer, which is something you don’t usually find at the drugstore. This tube has lasted me AGES. you literally need the littlest drop of this concealer for your under eyes. I even use this concealer to highlight my under eye / cheek bone area, which means I use a little more than you would just covering up your dark circles, and it still has lasted me a lifetime. For the price, this concealer is amazing and definitely worth checking out.

On my eyes I used my Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette. On days that I just want a super neutral look, this is always the palette that I grab. I LOVE matte eyeshadow looks, so this palette really is right up my alley. Today I used Faint (which is the medium brown colour) in my crease and outer V and then W.O.S. (a matte light pink) all over my lid. Oh and of course Venus (which is the only shimmer eyeshadow in the palette) in my inner corner and on my brow bone as a highlight.

And then you can see my little Anastasia Beverley Hills Dip Brow Pomade in Medium Brown in the corner there which is the only product I use for my brows now. I’ve only got two words for it. HOLY. GRAIL.

For my bronzer, I used the NARS Laguna bronzer from my Virtual Domination Palette. I originally thought that this palette would be limited edition palette, but to my surprise, they still have it for sale on the Sephora website. So if your looking to try some NARS products, definitely give this bad boy a try. I think it is well worth the money and I’ve used it pretty much every day since I’ve purchased it.

For a cheekbone highlight, of course I went with my trusty Hard Candy Baked Bronzer in Tiki. Amazing highlighter and I think it only cost me under $6 to buy.

And of course I had to moisturize my terribly chapped lips with my Blistex Lip Medex. This is the only lip repair treatment that works on my super chapped lips in the winter; my tried and true.

IMG_2376

Lastly, I of course had to wear my brand new MAC blush in Melba which I had purchased just a few days ago. If you want to see a close up of it and a swatch, check out my Itty Bitty MAC Haul post. It was my first time trying it on the cheek today and I am already obsessed. Dare I say that it even trumps my ex-all-time-favourite, The Balm‘s Frat Boy blush? What I love about this blush is that it is matte, and it warms up your cheeks beautifully, while looking super natural. The Frat Boy blush has a bit of a sheen to it, while Melba is completely matte. And if you’ve met me, you’d know I love me my matte make up…

And of course I finished off my eyes with my good ol’ L’oreal Line Stiletto Liquid Eyeliner, and my Maybelline The Colossal Volume Express Mascara.

Hope you guys enjoyed this MOTD post. Think I might do some more of these just because I can give you guys my thoughts on the products that I’m wearing, and not just show you guys it on my face.

Let me know what your favourite everyday make up products are! I’m always looking for new products to add to my collection.

More soon,

NEUTRAL MATTES ft. Urban Decay Vice 3 Palette https://speakoftheangel.com/neutral-mattes-ft-urban-decay-vice-3-palette/ https://speakoftheangel.com/neutral-mattes-ft-urban-decay-vice-3-palette/#comments Tue, 13 Jan 2015 08:15:52 +0000 http://theangeldossier.wordpress.com/?p=17

Here’s my first make up look that I created with my new Urban Decay Vice 3 palette. I have been obsessed with this palette ever since I picked it up. It’s got such amazingly buttery, pigmented beautiful colours, it’s hard not to love it. I’ve decided I’m going to try to put this palette to use as much as I can and not leave it unloved like some of my other palettes.

And what better way to do that than to create a bunch of looks with it for you guys  !

I wanted to start with something basic and natural. Sure the palette itself has got some gorgeous, eye-catching colours, but what’s great about this palette is that it’s got some amazing matte shadows as well !

So being a matte eyeshadow lover, I created this little neutral number for you guys.

I love how this look turned out.

The colours I used for this eye look are :

Undone

DTF

Defy

Truth

Hope you guys enjoy this look ! If you want to see how I achieved it, you can watch my tutorial down below.

Until next time boos ,
