It’s definitely the girliest item of clothing that I own, and it makes me feel girly when I wear it. But it’s one of those pieces that I don’t even think about getting rid of. Amongst my leathers, black clothes, and distressed denim, this skirt definitely stands out and makes me feel a little different.

I also adore the light blush pink colour of the skirt. I think it’s light enough of a pink that makes it still very wearable and versatile. Anything pinker than this I would start to shy away from. My cravings for spring/summer has definitely kicked in and I’ve been dying to wear some lighter pieces. I paired the skirt with a mauvey-grey turtle neck to ensure I wasn’t freezing to death (there’s still snow outside!)

And yes, I had to wear it with a leather moto and some leather booties. Because modern day princesses are strong, independent, and don’t need no man. All we need is a good leather jacket to conquer the world with. Am I right?!

Valentines day is right around the corner. And although I’m spending it alone, I’m more than content and happy with my life. I’ve got a great support system of family and friends, an amazing internship opportunity starting in March, and a really exciting future ahead of me. What else does a girl need really?

To all of you celebrating Valentines day independently this year, happy Galentines day! or Bruh-lentines day if there happen to be some dudes visiting my blog (??)

More soon!

Summer Hippie Pants https://speakoftheangel.com/summer-hippie-pants/ https://speakoftheangel.com/summer-hippie-pants/#respond Wed, 29 Jun 2016 04:00:24 +0000 http://speakoftheangel.com/?p=2306 Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

So far this summer has definitely been the summer of culottes. Wide-leg pants have made a strong come back and my favourite style has got to be the wide-leg hippie pants. Although I have been religiously wearing my black culottes for the past couple of months, pastel coloured culottes have been my most recent obsession.

One thing I love about these pink culottes from Sheinside.com is that they don’t flare out too much at the bottom. I find that it makes it slightly more wearable (they look like stylish pajama pants). Also I LOVE the elastic waist, it makes it extremely comfortable. Not to mention I can definitely eat a lot more when I’m wearing these pants and that always earns brownie points with me! I paired these bad girls with a cute tie-up knit top from Aritzia which I think ties the entire “hippie flower child” look together. I love how the outfit looks in the back and the mash-up of textures with the pleats and the knit. The top is so airy and light it definitely makes the outfit one of the most comfortable outfits I’ll wear this summer.

You can check out the pants here! They’re actually on sale currently for $18.99 which I think is SUCH a steal since something similar from Zara or Oak and Fort would be at least $50. They also come in a nice taupey-grey colour (which I might have to snag too) as well as just a plain black one. They are one-size but the elastic waist makes it pretty forgiving as far as the fit goes. I am usually a 25/26 waist in denim and these fit me comfortably with no muffin top whatsoever.

I was slightly worried that the pink chiffon material would be a little transparent at first, but the fabric is actually quite thick which was a pleasant surprise. The pants are also lined with a white fabric that covers your butt up to around mid-thigh so there really isn’t any worry of a wardrobe malfunction at all.

I’ve been really trying to put aside time every week to create blog content since I have more time in the summer time so I hope you guys have been enjoying it!

If there are any summer trends you want me to try or review definitely let me know in the comment section of this post!

Everyday Eye Makeup Pictorial ! https://speakoftheangel.com/everyday-eye-makeup-pictorial/ https://speakoftheangel.com/everyday-eye-makeup-pictorial/#comments Wed, 25 Mar 2015 07:00:07 +0000 http://speakoftheangel.com/?p=633 IMG_2938IMG_2952

Lately I’ve been really getting back into my Naked 3 palette. I forgot how much I loved the rosey golds and the pinky taupes. I know I’ve been really sucking at making Youtube videos lately. Something about it has really just not been clicking well with me. I’ve had no motivation to film or edit whatsoever. So instead, I decided I would show you guys my everyday makeup look through a pictorial !

DISCLAIMER : I am NOT, by any means, a MUA. I really WISH I was a MUA. BUUUUT I’m not. This is just how I do my face everyday. okaaaaaay leggo

I always start out with a transitional shade. Makes my life so much easier. Here I’m using a fluffy blending brush to blend Limit into my crease, and towards the inner corner of my eye.

To darken up the crease a little further, I’m taking that same blending brush and buffing Nooner into my crease as well.

Next, taking a slightly denser blending blush, I’m taking factory and placing it in the outer corner of my eye in my outer V and blending it slightly upward into my crease.

Then with a clean blending blush, I go back and really blend out the edges of Factory. If needed, I will take a little bit more of Limit and use it to really haze out the edge of the darker colours. You want the colours to fade out towards your browbone.

Then I take a fluffy shader brush and apply Burnout into the inner half of my lid, and then Strange into my inner corners as a highlight.

Rediscovered my love for gel liners recently, and haven’t stopped using this one ever since. This is just a 3 Concept Eyes Gel eyeliner pot that I bought in Hong Kong last summer. You can use any black eyeliner that you’d like ! I just went with a small wing (like I always do).

And VOILA ! here is the finished eye look !

As for my face makeup, I think I will be doing a separate pictorial (or maybe finally a video?!) of how I apply foundation, concealer, contour, blush and highlight. So incase you were wondering, keep your eyes peeled for that.

Same goes with my brows and fake lashes application !

Hope this was helpful some how !

Until next time,
