One of my favourite items from the Peace Collective line right now are their bombers. They actually have 2 or 3 different styles of bombers. They have their Canadian Built Quilted bomber, a Home is Toronto one, and my favourite, the silky looking Home is Canada Varsity bomber.

I actually wasn’t sure I’d like this jacket until I saw and touched it in real life. The jacket is actually amazing quality; thick, warm, and SILKY. I think that’s one of my favourite features about it, is it’s silky, shiny outer material. *HEART EYES*. I think it gives the oversized boyfriend bomber a more girly vibe.

I never really thought I’d be the patriotic type to wearing the words “home is Canada” or “Canadian built” on my apparel. But Peace Collective did such an amazing job incorporating these phrases on their super street style clothes that it makes me happy to rep Canada all day every day.

I wanted to style this jacket super casually and in an outfit that I could wear all year round in Vancouver. I paired it with my comfy Bench tee and the classic Citizens of Humanity Rocket Indie jeans. To stick with the comfy vibes I capped off the outfit with all white Stan Smiths. All in all I’d say this is my perfect, go-to, chill/school/errands outfit.

I’ve been completely obsessed with having plants in my room lately. To the point where I’ve dedicated a shelf top and a wall shelf to my adorable little plant family. So far I’ve already got 9 different little babies living with me in my room.

While on the hunt for more to add to my collection of succulents, aloes, and cactis I discovered Southland Nurseries. Literally a 5 minute drive from my place, Southlands Nursery is tucked away on W49th Ave south of Marine Drive. I’ve lived in Kerrisdale for a little over 4 years now, and have been going to school in the area for 10 years and I’ve never even heard of this gem! However, I was clearly the only one out of the loop because the place was bustling when I visited on Saturday afternoon. Definitely a place to keep in mind if you’re looking to start a garden or add some indoor plants to your home. They’ve also got really knowledgeable staff who can tell you everything you need to know about home gardening or taking care of plants.

They’ve got an AMAZING selection cacti and succulents!! I found everything I needed there.

For this little Saturday afternoon plant therapy session I wore my Talula denim jacket with a cute thin sweatshirt underneath. Paired with a light crossbody bag and my cream and white Stan Smith sneakers, I thought it was the perfect “beginning of spring” outfit.

What are your current favorite spring outfits? Let me know!

Had a super early shift at work yesterday, so I didn’t really want to wake up much earlier to get ready. I ended up just throwing on my Wilfred Free Yasmin dress and my Stan Smiths. I wasn’t actually sure about the dress and shoes combination at first, but ended up actually really liking the two together. Although the Yasmin dress is a super casual knitted marl material, I find that the cut and look of the dress can actually be quite dressy. So along with my sneakers, I found that it really balanced it out, and made it a more appropriate outfit for a casual day.

Not to mention I was SO. DAMN. COMFORTABLE. I definitely REALLY enjoyed it in that aspect.

Oh, and did you know that this dress is actually reversible? You could wear it the way I am in the pictures above, which is the regular way OR you could actually flip the dress around so that the back is toward the front, and it actually looks like you are wearing a matching top and skirt because of the slit in the middle. Definitely thinking about wearing it the reversed way on a night out soon .

STAN THE MAN https://speakoftheangel.com/stan-the-man/ https://speakoftheangel.com/stan-the-man/#respond Mon, 18 May 2015 17:24:17 +0000 http://speakoftheangel.com/?p=942

Sadly, Vancouver Summer isn’t in full bloom yet, and we still get the occasional cloudy/rainy day now and again. And it just so happened that the first day I brought my Stans home, was a cloudy one. I’ve also been using the hell out this new little pleather backpack that I bought online. It’s big enough to fit most things that I want / need to bring around with me, but isn’t so big that it weighs me down. This whole outfit put together definitely threw me back to the high school days a little.

Sweater : Noul

Tshirt : Uniqlo

Pants : BDG

Shoes : Adidas Originals

Bag : Ebay

More soon,

Yet another pair of white sneakers. I had to conform and pick these oldies up. Stan Smiths have been around for ages and ages, and they recently, for some reason, blew up again. For being so popular, they were actually quite the elusive shoe. There was only one store that carried them in my size, in the entire mall. Most stores didn’t even carry women’s sizes.

I have a feeling I’m going to get PLENTY of wear out of these, so I’m super glad I picked them up before the price gets jacked up, or they completely run out of sizes !

Think I’ve worn them every day since I got them :b

What do you think about the Stan Smiths?

Until next time,
